Current Endocrine and Diabetes Research in Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh is independently rated as one of the top 20 universities in the world.  The major focus for endocrine research is within the British Heart Foundation Centre for Cardiovascular Science (Deputy Director - Professor Rebecca Reynolds):

ECED also has an active programme of diabetes research based in both the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Western General Hospital.

Edinburgh actively contributes to the study programme of the Scottish Diabetes Research Network (SDRN).

A number of clinical diabetes and endocrinology studies are being conducted by the centre's NHS consultants, including contributions to multi-centre trials and audits.
